Adéle's Mohair is rooted in the heart of South Africa's Karoo region — a vast, dry inland plateau where Angora goats roam freely on open land and are shorn twice a year. South Africa is the epicentre of the global Mohair industry, and Adéle's is passionate about keeping that fibre local, beneficiating it on home soil and sharing it with hand knitters around the world.
Working with natural fibres including Mohair, Wool, Silk and Alpaca, every yarn is hand-spun and naturally dyed — shunning chemicals in favour of simple, earth-friendly methods. Even the dyeing process is thoughtful: grey water is released into alkali soil neutralised by crushed shells from the nearby sea.
Imperfection is the Point
In a world of mass production, Adéle's Mohair celebrates what makes handmade truly special. Each skein is unique. Each colour will differ slightly from the next. And that's exactly as it should be — because you are assured that what you knit or crochet will be like no one else's.

Adéle's Mohair doesn't just talk about sustainability — they live it. Off-cuts and dye lot ends are reworked rather than wasted. Fluff from brushed blankets is spun back into yarn. Banana fibres recycled from plants (previously burned as waste) are incorporated into brilliantly coloured yarns. Even Silk ends from sari production find new life in their range.
